Feeding The Beast: What's New and What to Look Forward To

3 min read

Greetings, FTB community! We’ve been working on some exciting developments here at Feed The Beast, and we can’t wait to share them with you. Whether you’re a longtime fan or new to the world of modded Minecraft, there’s something here for everyone.

Welcome to Our New CEO, Jake Evans

First and foremost, we’re thrilled to announce a significant change at FTB. We’ve recently welcomed Jake Evans as our new CEO! Jake is a seasoned FTB veteran with a deep understanding of the community and the challenges ahead. Rest assured, Slowpoke isn’t going anywhere—he’s stepping back into more of a creative role, getting hands-on with projects, and enjoying the process just as he did in the early days. With Jake at the helm and Slowpoke diving into creative endeavors, we’re set for an exciting future.

Community-Forward Initiatives and Modpack Updates

We’ve been listening to your feedback and are committed to making the FTB experience better than ever. One of the most significant changes we've made is removing the requirement for Overwolf on our app. We're continuing to enhance the FTB App to be as user-friendly and efficient as possible. Additionally, we’re excited to announce that some of our beloved modpacks are making their return to CurseForge for direct downloads.

Here’s a list of the modpacks you can now find on CurseForge:

  • Stoneblock 3
  • Oceanblock
  • Builder's Paradise 2
  • FTB Genesis
  • FTB Inferno
  • Arcanum Institute
  • Direwolf20 1.20*
  • FTB Neotech
  • FTB Skies
  • FTB Skies Expert
  • FTB Interactions (with the latest builds and fixes)

These packs will still be available on the FTB App, and using our app remains the best way to directly support the work we do. However, we’re happy to provide more options for our community to access these packs via CurseForge or CurseForge-approved launchers.

*We are still working on getting Direwolf20 1.20 approved!

Continued Commitment to Quality and Innovation

We’ve been hard at work cleaning up issues and providing fixes to our modpacks more aggressively than ever. Thanks to these efforts, we’ve reduced our total issue count from thousands to less than a hundred! Our team is continually reaching out to collaborate with other developers to ensure that everything runs smoothly across the board.

We’re also excited to tease that we have several new modpacks in the works for this year and are thrilled to have brought AlfredGG on to help make our questbooks better than ever. Stay tuned for more details and sneak peeks soon™.

Mod Updates and New Features

Our mods are the backbone of the FTB experience, and we’re dedicated to keeping them up to date and packed with new features. We currently maintain more than 25 individual mods with over one billion combined downloads! Our development team has been tirelessly working to ensure that our mods are compatible with the latest versions of Minecraft and the multiple launchers our community uses. We’re also thrilled to welcome UnrealDinnerbone to the team, who will be bringing some of the most requested features to life.

Gaz has been diligently documenting our app, covering common issues and fixes, and providing in-depth documentation for our mods, including many lesser-known features.
You can find all this and more at our doc site: docs.feed-the-beast.com, which we’ll continue to update with the latest features and information.

Here’s a quick recap of some of the new features added to our most popular mods this year:

  • Introduced a color selector panel
  • Improved core widget drawing

We’re always looking at community feedback to improve and enhance FTB Quests for both players and pack developers.

Looking Ahead

As we move forward, we’re focused on balancing the needs of our community with the necessity of keeping the lights on. We remain committed to providing as many free-use tools and content as possible while continuing to innovate and expand what FTB can offer.

And that’s just on the Java side of things! We’ve got exciting developments cooking on the Bedrock side as well, but that’s a story for another day.

Thank you for your continued support. The team at FTB is passionate about what we do, and we couldn’t do it without you. We’d love to hear from you, so join the conversation on our socials—Discord (link) and X (formerly Twitter) (link).

Stay tuned for more exciting updates, and as always, happy modding!
