Once you start your journey you'll find yourself aboard a working airship suspended over the void. This is your starter platform, your transport around the skies, it's your home!

Fire up the Aero Scoop mounted on the bow and start collecting raw materials straight from the sky, but only while you fly.

Want a rougher start? Pick the plain island instead and build your way up to an airship. No hull, no engines, no freebies. Good luck bestie.

Build your ship bigger, add thrusters, turn the entire thing into a moving factory, and fly between floating structures and visit distant destinations. Your base goes where you go, so don't crash!

Progression is open rather than heavily gated. Follow the quests, chase whatever looks interesting, or wander directly into the mod you absolutely do not understand yet. Build absurd machinery with Create, Modern Industrialization, Mekanism, and Applied Energistics 2; throw spells around with Ars Nouveau, Iron’s Spells ’n Spellbooks, and Malum. Mix draconic tech and magic to become unreasonably powerful. Make the ship everyone else’s graphics card fears.

Islands are widely spaced. Structures, bosses, and loot are scattered across them, and reaching the better ones takes a ship. Air scoops, seives, tempered jars and sifters remain a full resource route for players who prefer them.
